We were recently approached by two vastly unique companies for projects that required precise detailing of inlay work. One project included work for a high-end residential interior home while the other was more architecturally focused for work inside a Las Vegas casino. The two projects were greatly diverse in the scope of the initial design and construction. Our staff welcomed the opportunity to present two diverse solutions for the spaces all the while providing both with elegant and customized detailing.

We thought that with such great design elements required for two diverse spaces, it would be a great opportunity to provide a write up on each project and result. So, we created case studies for each project. Of course, both spaces were ultimately thoroughly enhanced with the beauty of intricately detailed inlay designs, but check out the details and photography for yourself:

Inlaid Woodcraft Company pioneered the development of wood (veneer) cutting lasers in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Since then, our customer base has expanded to include high-end furniture makers, custom cabinet makers, yacht builders, architectural plywood producers, automotive interior companies and other wood product manufacturers. We provide products and services designed to meet the needs of companies both large and small. We consider no job too large or too small.

Inlaying wood (or “marquetry”) is the art of assembling pieces of veneer together to form a design. We are able to create beautiful works of art using different veneer species and creatively utilizing different grain directions. Using this technique, company logos or any other designs can be used to enhance the beauty of a conference table top, wall panel, or any other wood product. (See how we re-created the Chicago Bulls’ basketball court on the top of their corporate conference table.)

Currently, Inlaid Woodcraft Company utilizes CO2 lasers to cut materials ranging from thin wood veneers (1/45”) to solid lumber up to 1” thick. Applications include architectural panels, furniture panels, inlays, inlay borders and laser-cut wood parts such as grilles, chair backs and laser-cut furniture splats.
